II. Choose two or more examples or use some of your own to demonstrate mastery of related objectives:

Artifact 1

The AKS Lesson Plan Database has provided me with several ideas about different approaches to teaching the same subject matter from year to year. Even if I don't use the entire lesson, I can get a fresh perspective about how to present the material. Here is a lesson that I wrote using the teaching strategy of concept attainment.

Artifact 2

Using Igpro 8.0 has been a wonderful timesaver, in terms of calculating grades. This software package allows teachers to individualize their own grading scales, and also have different grading procedures for the different courses we teach. Now, we can quickly check a student's progess, email a progress report home to parents, and determine where the student's need help.

Artifact 3

Spreadsheets are probably the most common computer application used in the classroom. A great deal of mathematical activity involves the use of formulas, functions, and mathematical objects defined by them. Another function of spreadsheets is to create a neat student handout. Using Microsoft® Excel, I created a student handout which also utilizes the chart function. The finished product is shown below the worksheet.
